Home Depot Sr. Business Analyst - Pro Pricing in Atlanta, Georgia

Position Purpose:

The Sr. Business Analyst, Pro Pricing will support the efforts to provide subject matter expertise, project management, and analytical support to the development and execution of pro pricing strategies in support of The Home Depot's Merchandising group.. The Sr. Analyst will perform analysis of data, build presentations, and solve business questions using their insights, analytics, and judgement. The Sr. Analyst will support merchants directly by helping them understand their business, test pricing strategies, and helping them achieve their objectives. The Sr. Analyst will also work with cross functional partners, including field personal, finance, merchandising operations, marketing and others to ensure end to end thinking on strategy and execution. The Sr. Analyst will conceive, develop, and implement a system and process to gather competitive pricing information from disparate sources; merchants, field personnel, third party providers and others. The Sr. Analyst will conduct detailed pricing and gross margin variance analysis by product by market and other ad hoc financial analysis to support program management. The Sr. Analyst will develop subject matter expertise on their defined scope and be regarded as the team's expert on the topic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 25% Lead all phases of a project's life cycle including defining the business need, establishing criteria and business requirements, understanding the impact to the business and designing and rolling out the project

  • 50% Serve as a subject matter expert and perform research and/or analysis within assigned projects or category of business

  • 25% Establish and report on metrics of assigned projects or categories to gauge business value

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • Reports to Manager/Sr. Manager

  • No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the technical leadership of a project work team: may select team members and assess capabilities, provide technical training, provide information necessary to meet work, project or program objectives, evaluate program or project performance.

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Innate intellectual curiosity

  • Masters/MBA in Statistics, Finance, or other quantitative subject

  • Understanding of pricing and statistics

  • Proven ability to analyze, evaluate and interpret complex data. Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, , SQL, Tableau and other statistical software or pricing packages

  • Proficiency in drawing out actionable business insights from data analyses

  • Ability to communicate analytical findings to various levels and partner organization across the company, including to non-technical audiences.

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
